Terms of Service.
Version 1 · Effective date: September 8, 2026 · Last updated: September 8, 2026
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and You, Co. ("You, Co.," "we," "us," or "our") and govern your access to and use of joinyou.co and its subdomains, the YouScore assessment, the waitlist, the member shop, and our related applications and communications (collectively, the "Services"). References to "you" and "your" mean the individual using the Services.
By accessing or using the Services, or by clicking to accept these Terms where that option is presented (for example, when you request a Snapshot, join the waitlist, accept an invitation, or complete a purchase), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Please read Section 18 carefully: it contains an arbitration agreement and class-action waiver that affect how disputes between us are resolved.
2. Eligibility
The Services are intended for individuals who are at least 18 years of age and located in the United States. By using the Services, you represent that you meet these requirements and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
3. Other agreements
- Membership Terms. Paid membership in You is governed by separate You, Co. Membership Terms presented and accepted at time of subscription. If these Terms conflict with the Membership Terms as to your membership, the You, Co. Membership Terms control.
- Program-specific terms. Certain features or programs may carry their own posted terms — for example, the recognition guidelines for Founding Members and the community guidelines for the member community channel — which control for those features.
- Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy at joinyou.co/privacy describes how we collect, use, and disclose personal information.
4. The YouScore and educational content
The YouScore is an educational financial measure, calculated from information you choose to provide (and, if you later connect financial accounts, from information you authorize us to receive). The following applies to the YouScore, its components and bands, related insights, and all other content available through the Services:
- No professional advice. The Services do not provide financial, investment, accounting, tax, or legal advice, and nothing in the Services should be relied on as such. The content is for educational and informational purposes only. You should consult a qualified professional before making decisions that affect your finances. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.
- Not a credit score. The YouScore is not a credit score and is not provided by or to consumer credit reporting agencies.
- No advisory relationship. Your use of the Services does not create any fiduciary, advisory, or professional-client relationship between you and You, Co.
- Your inputs drive your results. Scores and insights depend on the accuracy and completeness of the information provided. Our scoring methodology is published at joinyou.co/youscore/methodology, is versioned, and may change over time; your score may change when the methodology changes or when your inputs change.
- No outcome guarantees. We make no representation or guarantee regarding any savings, results, or financial outcomes from using the Services.
5. Our intellectual property; your license
The Services — including all software, text, graphics, logos, designs, scores, methodologies, and other content we provide (other than Your Content, defined below) — are owned by You, Co. or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. "You," "YouScore," and our logos are trademarks of You, Co.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not, except as we expressly permit in writing:
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works of the Services or any content we provide;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code or underlying models of the Services, except as permitted by law;
- access or use the Services or any content by automated means (including scraping, crawling, or bulk downloading) or circumvent any technical or rate limits;
- use the Services to develop a competing product or service, or access the Services for competitive analysis; or
- remove or obscure any proprietary notices.
The published methodology page may be read, cited, and linked for personal and academic purposes with attribution; commercial use requires our written permission.
6. Your content and feedback
"Your Content" means information and materials you submit through the Services, such as assessment answers, survey responses, and messages to us. You retain your rights in Your Content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, use, reproduce, and display Your Content as needed to operate and provide the Services, consistent with our Privacy Policy.
Score share pages. If you create a score share link, you direct us to display the shared score and band publicly at that link until you ask us to disable it.
Founding recognition. If you choose to be listed on the founding wall or on your founding page, you direct us to display your name or chosen display name and your founding number publicly there until you withdraw that choice. Founding recognition materials we provide (such as a badge or suggested wording) may be used only as the recognition guidelines posted on the Services permit.
Feedback. If you send us ideas, suggestions, or other feedback, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use it for any purpose, without obligation or compensation.
7. The member shop; purchases
The member shop offers physical products, some of which are sold as preorders:
- Pricing and payment. Prices are shown in U.S. dollars at checkout and may change at any time before your order. Payment is charged in full when you place your order. Payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe-hosted pages; applicable taxes and any shipping charges are shown at checkout.
- Preorders. Preorder items are charged when you place the order and display an estimated shipping window, which is our good-faith estimate rather than a guaranteed date; we will notify you of material delays and, for U.S. orders subject to the FTC's mail-order rules, obtain your consent or offer a refund as required. You may cancel a preorder for a full refund at any time before the production cutoff date shown on the product page; after that date the item is put into production for you and the order cannot be canceled, though it may be returnable as described below.
- Shipping. We currently ship only to addresses in the United States (50 states and the District of Columbia), by tracked carrier service. Title and risk of loss pass to you upon the carrier's delivery to the address you provided. You are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address; reshipment after a failed delivery caused by an address error may be at your cost.
- Returns. Unless an item is marked final sale, you may return it within 14 days of delivery for a refund. To start a return, email support@joinyou.co for a return authorization before shipping anything back. Returned items must be unworn, unwashed, and in original condition with tags attached. You are responsible for return shipping and for the item until we receive it; we recommend a tracked service. We may refuse returns that do not meet these requirements.
- Refunds. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within approximately 10 business days of our receiving and inspecting the return. Original shipping charges are not refunded. We do not offer exchanges; to change a size or color, return the item and place a new order.
- Final sale items. Personalized items (including founding-member numbered items) and items marked final sale at checkout cannot be returned, exchanged, or canceled after the production cutoff, except as provided under "Defective or incorrect items."
- Defective or incorrect items. If we ship the wrong item or your item arrives damaged or defective, contact support@joinyou.co within 30 days of delivery with photos and we will make it right — a replacement where available, or a full refund including shipping. Nothing in this section limits any warranty or other right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
- Errors. We may cancel orders affected by pricing or listing errors and will refund amounts paid for canceled orders.
- Availability. Access to the member shop requires an active membership at the time of the order (see the Membership Terms).
The current shipping and returns summary is published at joinyou.co/shop/shipping-returns and is part of these Terms.
8. Referral program
We may offer referral links and rewards from time to time. Referral rewards are subject to the program rules posted where the program is offered, are product-only benefits unless expressly stated otherwise, and may be modified, suspended, or revoked (including for self-referrals, fake accounts, or other abuse). Referrals may not be promoted through spam or misleading messages.
9. Text messages
If you opt in to our SMS program, you consent to receive recurring text messages about the Services at the number you provide. Consent is not a condition of membership or purchase. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time and HELP for help, or contact us at support@joinyou.co. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Our handling of mobile information is described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Beta features
We may label certain features as beta, preview, or early access. Beta features are provided for evaluation, may be modified or discontinued at any time, and may be less reliable than other parts of the Services; the disclaimers in Section 15 apply fully to beta features.
11. Third-party services and links
The Services link to and interoperate with services we do not control — including Stripe-hosted checkout pages, our newsletter on Substack, the platform hosting our member community channel, professional-network sites where you may choose to display founding recognition, merchants offering member benefits, and, if you choose to connect financial accounts, our data-aggregation provider(s) such as Plaid, whose terms you accept when you connect an account and whom you authorize to access your account information on your behalf. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and governed by their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, and links do not imply endorsement.
12. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Services to:
- violate any applicable law or regulation, or infringe anyone's rights;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
- submit false or misleading information, or another person's information without authority;
- interfere with or disrupt the Services, probe or test vulnerabilities, bypass authentication or security measures, or introduce malicious code;
- access the Services by automated means or harvest data from them (see Section 5); or
- use the Services for any commercial purpose we have not authorized.
We may investigate violations and may suspend or terminate access as described in Section 14.
13. Copyright complaints (DMCA)
We respect intellectual-property rights and respond to notices that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Send notices of claimed infringement — including identification of the work, the allegedly infringing material and its location, your contact information, the required good-faith and accuracy statements, and your physical or electronic signature — to our designated agent: Founder & CEO, You, Co., 169 Madison Ave, Suite 72302, New York, NY 10016, legal@joinyou.co. We may remove material alleged to be infringing, may forward counter-notices as the DMCA provides, and will terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services (or any feature) at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law, to protect the Services or other users, or upon discontinuation of a feature; where practicable, we will provide notice. Membership cancellation and its effects are governed by the Membership Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 4–6 and 13–22) survive.
15. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICES AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY SCORE, INSIGHT, OR OTHER CONTENT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
16. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (A) YOU, CO. AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES; AND (B) OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU; IN THOSE JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
17. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless You, Co. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Services, or your violation of law or the rights of a third party, except to the extent caused by our own conduct.
18. Dispute resolution; arbitration; class-action waiver
- Informal resolution first. Before filing a claim, you and we agree to try to resolve the dispute informally: either party may send a written notice of dispute to legal@joinyou.co, and the parties will attempt in good faith to resolve it within 30 days.
- Binding arbitration. Except as provided below, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
- Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for infringement or misuse of intellectual property.
- Class-action and jury waiver. DISPUTES WILL BE RESOLVED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS ONLY. YOU AND WE EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.
- 30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing legal@joinyou.co with the subject "Arbitration Opt-Out" within 30 days of first accepting these Terms; opting out does not affect any other provision.
- Coordinated filings. If 25 or more similar claims are filed by or with the assistance of the same or coordinated counsel, the parties agree to a staged (batched) arbitration process in which representative claims proceed first and the remainder are administered in batches.
- Severability. If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) will proceed in court.
19. Governing law and venue
These Terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to Section 18, any claim not subject to arbitration must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and the parties consent to their jurisdiction.
20. Changes to the Services and these Terms
We are building quickly, and the Services will change; we may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date, and material changes will be notified as required by applicable law — by posting a prominent notice on the Services or, for account holders and members, by email, and where the Membership Terms require versioned re-acceptance, through that mechanism. Changes apply prospectively; your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
21. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with the Membership Terms and any program-specific terms, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services and supersede prior agreements on that subject. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Notices to you may be provided through the Services or to the email address you provide; notices to us go to the address in Section 22.
